The long wait is over. 🤗 We have been on the lookout for this encouraging travel update for quite some time, and it has actually come. The Singapore government has announced plans to expand the vaccinated travel lanes (VTL) to more countries. Amazingly, the Maldives is one of them! 😍 The paradise-like region in the Indian Ocean. Travellers can now enter Singapore under VTL from 16-Dec-2021 and start applying for travel passes from 09-Dec-2021.
And after nearly 2 months of VTL to Maldives since Dec-2021, we have successfully catered to a few customers who immensely enjoyed their vacation to the palm-fringed private islands and were able to return safely to Singapore without issues🛬.
Update 15-March-2022: Another piece of good news for tourists planning and eager to have an extraordinary vacation to the Maldives! The pre-departure testing requirement has been lifted for travellers effective 13-March-2022. This means that vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers are no longer required to test a Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) prior to entering the Maldives. And they only need to complete the Traveler Health Declaration form, which is required for all travellers within 48 hours of the flight.
There is also a relaxation of travel requirement upon coming back to Singapore. Upon the arrival, travellers would only be required to take an unsupervised self-swab Antigen Rapid Test (ART) within 24 hours of entry into Singapore. Travellers are required to report their unsupervised self-swab ART test result via sync.gov.sg before proceeding with their activities in Singapore.
So giddy up! Hurry up! This summer, explore the possibility of you spending a fascinating and refreshing time on the sunny side of life via Maldives VTL Singapore. However, before frolicking out in the plane, make sure to check the VTL (Vaccinated Travel Lane) procedures and requirements. Especially with the latest news of another Covid-19 variant on the horizon.
Check these useful links from Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) as you plan.
This quarantine-free travel to the Maldives via VTLs could become the new normal! And as we learn to live in an endemic state, it is good to equip ourselves with up-to-date information. Or might as well try it out to gain knowledge by experience, which will be beneficial for our future overseas travel getaways.
