Romantic Honeymoon Destinations in Malaysia

Before COVID-19, you might have been on countless vacations with your special someone, and for sure, you long to experience those memorable getaways soon. However, given the current setback and how volatile our pandemic situation is, expectations are curbed, and external travel plans are moved.

Our present circumstances have taken a wrong turn with the nationwide lockdown once again. But fret not and keep that expectant heart! We got you in mind and consolidated a list of refreshingly romantic honeymoon destinations in Malaysia for you to consider when our current state improves and allows. This is our way of continually spreading positive thoughts online.

So whether you are newlywed or married for quite some time, these places will help you reconnect on an intimate personal level with your partner while relaxing and enjoying life.

1.)   Pulau Sibu, Johor

Rimba Resort

At about 20 minutes journey from the Tanjung Leman jetty, Pulau Sibu is one of the most beautiful islands in Johor. The sea is a cerulean-blue gown, and the beach seems dipped in earthshine-gold. It is rich in tropical plants, coral reefs, and sea caves – a perfect place for snorkeling, diving, boat rowing, and fishing. Rimba and Sea Gypsy Village are the two most high-rated resorts that could be your primary choice to stay.

Recommended accommodation:

Rimba Resort: start with RM300++/adult/night.

Sea Gypsy Village: start with RM288++/adult/night.

2.)   Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Tanjung Aru

If you happen to ask locals about the must-visit tourist spot in Sabah, the response would undoubtedly be Tanjung Aru. It is the most renowned beach in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah – recognized as one of the best sunset views in the world. When the sun turns orange, the emitted light permeates and paints the surroundings with golden yellow. Indeed, how romantic it is to enjoy the sunset with your loved one. A prominent nearby night market is also available, serving delightful local food such as satay, bbq chicken wings and fresh fruit juice.

3.)   Cherating, Pahang

Located about 40km north of Kuantan, Pahang, Cherating is famous for its beach resort and home to Asia’s first Club Med! Local beaches include Chendor Beach, a breeding site for leatherback and other sea turtles and home to the Chendor Turtle Sanctuary. During the monsoon season, Cherating beach is one of the few beaches in Peninsular Malaysia with waves good enough for surfing. Its main street has traditional textiles and a handicraft workshop which offers Batik painting classes. Nevertheless, the Cherating River cruise is also one of the options to enjoy the flora and fauna of the Cherating River.

avani resort

Noted for its aerial view of water villas in the formation of a palm tree, Avani Sepang Gold Coast is situated just around 40 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Guests could wake up to the scenic deep blues of Malacca Strait. Besides experiencing sweet moments with your loved ones while enjoying the beauty and nature nearby the resort, there are plenty of things to do too. We highly recommend taking the half-day tour on the Mangrove River cruise. Winding through lush mangroves and dense jungle – meet exotic birds, monkeys, eagles, and monitor lizards. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding are other water activities available for active people. Expert instructors will guide you depending on your preferred activity.
