Looking for a luxury 5 start beach resort in Bali? I have the privilege to visit Karma Kandara when I was in Bali during my holiday in June 2018.
Read on as I provide reviews on this amazing “all villas with pool” resort. It comes with its own private beach too !
Karma Kandara is known for it’s “dramatic” location in Uluwatu. It is situated on the cliff and over looking the beautiful ocean. Imagine having spa and overlooking the ocean, watching sunset over the cliff. Architect-designed villas, each with a private pool, are positioned on the cliff above one of the top five beaches in Asia.
Every villas in Karma comes with it’s own courtyard and private pool. Karma Kandara blends traditional Balinese architecture with luxury amenities to create a series of private villas. The two, three and four-bedroom villas feature natural stone, teakwood decks and indigenous grass or ironwood tile roofs. I visited the villas that was facing the ocean, slide open the doors to a large balcony and amazing ocean view. Interiors are airy and contemporary with luxurious fixtures, artwork etc. The villas also come with a fully functional kitchen !
I visited their humongous five bedroom villa or they call it the villa grand residence. If you plan a wedding there, they might throw in a night stay in this VVIP villa ! In their five bedroom villa, it includes a gym, a movie theater and a fully functional kitchen ! Check out the short video clip below:
Di Mare is an award-winning mediterranean resturant. It shows a cliff top setting and overlooking the stunning Indian Ocean. I tried their lunch menu. My wife took the Karma salad and the ingredients were super fresh. I took the beef ribs, it one of the best ribs I have ever tasted, melt in the mouth with exotic flavours. My two little ones took the slow cook pork belly with macroni cheese. Trust me, the best thing other than the food is the view !
Karma Kandara’s award winning spa is also located on top of a cliff. One can enjoy a massage with an amazing view of the ocean. They have a spa at the beach club too !
One important factor that I look out for when going for holiday is the kids club in the resort ! Karma Kandara Bali has a award winning kids club ; 3 Monkey Kid’s club. They have generously turn one villa into a kids club in the resort, how cool is that ! I heard from the staff that there are many families that return to Karma because of the kids club.

They have activities like dress up acting, cooking workshop, scavenger hunt, kite making etc. Just throw you kids there and enjoy your spa, have a swim at the pool or sun tan at the beach club.
Karma Kandara Bali has its own private beach club. The interesting thing is to access this beach club, you can either choose to walk the steps or you can take a cable car ! I am wondering, who will want to take the steps !? Children will be thrilled to take the cable car ride down.
There are many actitives at the beach club like stand up paddle, yoga, kayaking, snorkeling etc. Most of the actitivies are free of charge. There is a spa and kids club at Karma beach club too ! The beach club also has daily activities like every Monday night is movie night by the beach etc. For more information, check it out here.
