The next latest destination in our series of resort tours is the Hard Rock Maldives.
The name needs no introduction but let us do it anyway. The resort concept of Hard Rock Maldives resort is influenced by local culture. The tropical architecture is meshed with contemporary design elements, alongside regionally-inspired authentic music memorabilia. With inclusivity and the spirit of music at its bedrock, you can tune in to whatever genre suits your mood. It is a one-resort, one-island connected to Crossroads through a bridge. In addition, each room has a designated bike with locks. You can either cycle everywhere to explore or request a buggy.

Changing the key back to Mr. Wu, let us hear what he has to say about his experience and stay at Hard Rock Maldives.
“As is customary, we returned to Male for the transfer to Hard Rock Maldives. It was a quick speedboat ride since the resort is just nearby, and we stayed at the Platinum Overwater Pool Villa with a colourful modern design and vibrant atmosphere from 19-22/June.” explained Mr. Wu.
He added, “There are a variety of room accommodations, all of which are bound to excite everyone – from their affordable Silver Sky studios and Gold beach villas to ultra-luxurious 2-bedroom Rock Royalty Overwater Pool Villa. It has amenities like bunk beds, a private terrace, direct beach access, a private boat jetty, an infinity pool, etc. that will surely thrill guests across age groups. Another interesting option is to split your stay and spend some nights in SAii Lagoon, its neighbouring serene cerulean bolthole.”
We asked him about the highlights of their stay. Mr. Wu responded, “The one that stands out was the daily Sundown Ritual near the arrival jetty with an expansive view of the remarkable Indian Ocean while picking at the tasty finger foods and drinks. Also noteworthy is the dining experience, with a wide selection of restaurants serving contemporary global cuisine, like Sessions, Ministry of Crab, The Elephant & The Butterfly, and, of course, Hard Rock Cafe and its live music. One more thing is the convenience since the resort is close to Male.”
Did you enjoy any other activities or entertainment at the resort?
“Dolphin watching!”, Mr. Wu exclaimed and went on. “The resort is near a channel where the aquatic mammals come to feed. Their timing is consistently accurate around 9-10am at the atolls and leaves in the evening. A good location to expect them is at Miss Olive Oyl restaurant with a pool bar and the Mediterranean. Also, at the Crossroads area – Cafe del Mar for more chances of a sighting.”
Roxity Kids Club and Teen Spirit Club are cultured hangouts for kids and teens. They can participate in daily jam sessions, arts & crafts, a mini circus with aerial acrobatics, gymnastics, a climbing wall and introductory self-defence classes, water sports, and musical stage shows with real instruments and professional musicians. If your child wants to develop his musical talents further, they can opt for private music lessons. There is also leisure time, with PS4 consoles, pool games, and selfie sticks for teenagers to save the day.
Just walking or cycling around the resort is simply enjoyable. Its central reception area is an elevated hill, which serves as the highest point and raises the slides. And while waiting for your return flight, you can alternatively shop at Crossroads, given the resort’s proximity to the airport. Day visitors are welcome and allowed entrance.
